Dewatto House

This is a photo history of my home building project. Click on any picture for a better view. The goal is to build a small, efficient two bedroom home with low maintenance and low ecological impact. It's constructed of Insulated Composite Concrete Forms (ICCF), with hydronic heat in a slab on grade. The forms are a mixture of concrete and post-consumer recycled polystyrene. The property is waterfront acreage on Hood Canal in Washington state.

Master bedroom completed

We finally got a matress and can stay in the house. Yeah.

Here's another picture of the gorgeous marble remnant for the nightstand. I still haven't taken a picture that does it justice.

All the doors are in and the hardware installed. The plates and knobs are recycled. The "innerds" are new.

Nope. On a mortise lockset, the keyhole is always on the bottom. Click on the picture and you can see that the keyhole is in the correct spot. These are a classic art deco plate and are kind of funky.
