Dewatto House

This is a photo history of my home building project. Click on any picture for a better view. The goal is to build a small, efficient two bedroom home with low maintenance and low ecological impact. It's constructed of Insulated Composite Concrete Forms (ICCF), with hydronic heat in a slab on grade. The forms are a mixture of concrete and post-consumer recycled polystyrene. The property is waterfront acreage on Hood Canal in Washington state.

Fireplace install

Here's the fireplace installed in the livingroom wall. The area above gets framed in with steel, some hardiebacker, and then plastered. The zero-clearance fireplace has ductwork that will be routed to heat the upstairs.
