This is a photo history of my home building project. Click on any picture for a better view. The goal is to build a small, efficient two bedroom home with low maintenance and low ecological impact. It's constructed of Insulated Composite Concrete Forms (ICCF), with hydronic heat in a slab on grade. The forms are a mixture of concrete and post-consumer recycled polystyrene. The property is waterfront acreage on Hood Canal in Washington state.
The sill forms were held in place with plastic window shims.
They get snapped off and the board is knocked off by hooking a claw hammer under it and tapping with the sledge. In the background you can see exposed horizontal concrete beams formed by the ICCF.
