This is a photo history of my home building project. Click on any picture for a better view. The goal is to build a small, efficient two bedroom home with low maintenance and low ecological impact. It's constructed of Insulated Composite Concrete Forms (ICCF), with hydronic heat in a slab on grade. The forms are a mixture of concrete and post-consumer recycled polystyrene. The property is waterfront acreage on Hood Canal in Washington state.
Here's what the triangular pour window looks like when foamed back in place. We foamed as we poured around the building, so the second lift of about 4-5 feet took place 30 minutes after these were foamed. Not a single failure or even a leak. Once the excess foam is knocked off, it gets plastered and disappears.
